Sucap Hat
Sucap Hat
The sucup hat idea came from our co-owner Dallas Jenkins. “My idea came from thinking of useful objects that I thought would be substantial in life.” It all started with defining what value meant to us, and how we could use the dixie cups and make something innovative. Then we thought about how kids love to play in the sun, and what we could do to protect the kids we love from the harmful sun rays. We all agreed that a hat, that is light and colorful could be useful to everyone.
Entrepreneur:
An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of a new enterprise, venture or idea and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome. It is exciting because we got to come up with the idea, market it, an create a website about it. And it’s all about us, and what we want to do.

Playground fun with Sucup Hat
The Hat:
When we first got the cups, we kind of just looked at them not knowing really what the first step was. How to start the project of. And then we decided that we needed to create the base or the rim of the hat. so we cut every hat down the seem of the cup, and we ripped off the bottom. we first paper clipped them to gather in a circle and fitted it on Dallas’ head. then we laid all the cut cups down and glued them to gather to make to rim of the hat like one of those big sun ones, and we attached popsicle sticks to under the glued cups to make it hard. ANd then we hot glued it to our rim of the cup to put the hat to gather. then we used the bottoms we cut off in the beginning and glued it to the under part of the hat to make it nice.
Defining value: The D&K company started off with dixie cups, blank white boards with two co-owners thinking of what value means to us. We started to brain storm different ideas and came to a conclusion that value is something that is useful in our everyday lives and can assist in making are lives more enjoyable. The Sucup hat fulfill all these values because its fun and colorful to wear. It can be used everyday and by everybody because it is unisex. It protects us from the sun, and relives us from worrying about getting sunburn and skin cancer.

Innovation
Innovation: The D&K idea of innovation is taking something ordinary and making something creative and useful out of it. People are always taking simple things and making it better from every aspect of life from fashion to technology. Innovation is always impacting our lives because people are always changing and trying to create something better than before.
Design Process
Well at first it was very difficult to come up with a concept. No one really said any thing and no one was talking. we were a new group and we weren’t comfortable with each other yet. THen some how we came up with the hat idea. Dallas said she just was thinking of useful things that she needed at the moment.
When we started the process every one in our group began ripping the cups at the seem and taking the bottoms off. Then we fitted the open bottomless cups around Dallas’ head and paperclip them together so if we needed to adjust it later we could. Then we would remove the paperclips and put tape on the inside and out side of the rim to keep it together.
We then laid all of our other ripped cups out around to make the brim of the hat and taped the to gather as we went along in a circle from. We all so attached popsicle sticks to the rim sticking out to keep the brim up and from falling down.
We flipped the hat over and took all those bottoms we didn’t use and flattened them and hot glued them to the bottom over lapping to make a very pretty design.
Some obstacles we over came was wee lost a partner. We had a three person group but the third party left our company. But in the end our product came out just like we wanted and we are very proud.
